2019. New Year, new me…. every day?

New Year, new me.

New year, new beginnings, new goals (actually not all the goals are new… some are from four years ago, but never happened). We all have this idea of “New year. New me.” without realizing that there is a new year beginning every day. Every single day, as long as we are alive, we have the chance to do something new, to start over, to improve ourselves. There’s no need that we wait for the first day of the year or the first day of the month to do it, only to have an excuse if we miss the first day “I’m gonna start next month so I can do it from the beginning!” Still, most of the times, this idea of a new year is the best motivation for most of us (as long as the goals are realistic).

Plan and set goals

I’ve recently seen an image on Facebook which I found pretty motivating. It was saying:
A: “Why so optimistic for 2019? What do you think it will bring? Everything seems so messed up.”
B: “I think it will bring flowers.”
A: “Yes? How come?”
B: “Because I am planting flowers.”
So, if you decide to plant flowers, this year will fill your life with flowers. If you work for your goals, amazing things will happen.
Decide what you want, make a list and work for it! (In order to do this I’ve already ordered Andra Olarean’s diary, which is meant to help me improve my life and achieve my goals. I will be back with a review for it after I use it for a while.)

My goal list?

Well… my list is so long that it might not be realistic at all, so I tried to choose the first three goals that are the most important to me this year.

1. Grow ArtMandy

This one might be pretty obvious but is extremely important to me. It actually implies a set of many other goals which I’m not going to write here since it will be way too much for a single post. Let’s just say that I want to spend more time working on my passions.

2. Read more

I’ve bought a bunch of books in the past year but I’ve hardly had enough time to actually read them (I’ve only started a few, but never finished). From now on, I wish to read every single one of them. Beyonce – The untold story by J. Randy Taraborrelli, Secrets of success by Dale Carnegie, Dan Brown’s collection which includes The lost symbol, The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, are only a few of the books on my list. I bought all of them (except the one by Dale Carnegie) from one of the best bookstores I found here, in Bucharest. It is called Antic ExLibris and it has a huge amount of discount books, notebooks, and other amazing stuff.

3. Practice arts & crafts

The third goal is actually related to the first one. When I’m talking about arts and crafts I’m referring to the fact that I haven’t drawn a fashion croquis in the past year. Also, I haven’t used my sewing machine lately. So, I’m planning to start practicing these activities again. One way of doing this would be by using the adult coloring book which I also bought from the store I’ve told you before. It’s a coloring book that is meant to help you express your emotions by drawing or writing your thoughts.
